【摘要】:ThetotalapparentwaterinenginecoolantconcentrateasdeterminedbyKarlFischertitrationsconsistsofthefol-lowing:(1)waterpresentintheoriginalglycolbase;(2)wateradded(forexample,inhibitorsolutions);(3)waterofhydrationofinhibitors(forexample,Na2B4O7x00B7;5H2O);(4)waterformedinthechemicalreactionbetweenborateandethyleneglycol,producingboratediolcondensateandwater;and(5)quantitativeinterferencebythereactionofthereagentwithinhibitorssuchastetraborateorsodiumhydroxide.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationofthewaterpresentinneworunusedglycol-basedcoolantconcentratesusingamanual(TestMethodA)oranautomatic(TestMethodB)coulometrictitratorprocedure.1.2ManycarbonylcompoundsreactslowlywiththeFischerreagent,causingafadingendpointandleadingtohighresults.AmodifiedFischerreagentprocedureisincludedthatminimizestheseundesirableandinterferingreactions.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.ForspecifichazardsstatementsseeSections8and16.
