【摘要】:Ahighpercentageofinsoluble,suspendedsolidmaterialcancreatepumping,filtering,orgrindingdifficultiesintheoff-loadingofbulkshipmentsofOLHWandcancontributetoexcessivewearonprocessingequipment.Highsolidscanalsodecreasethequalityandconsistencyofcommingledsolutionsbydecreasingtheeffectivenessofagitationinstoragetanks.Theseissuesareofconcerntotherecyclingindustries(solvents,paints,andothermaterialshandledinsignificantquantities)inadditiontothoseactivitiesthatproposetousethewasteasafuel.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheapproximateamountofinsoluble,suspendedsolidmaterialinorganicliquidhazardouswaste(OLHW).1.2Thistestmethodisintendedtobeusedinapproximatingtheamountofinsoluble,suspendedsolidsindeterminingthematerialhandlingcharacteristicsandfuelqualityofOLHW.Itisnotintendedtoreplacemoresophisticatedproceduresforthedeterminationoftotalsolids.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
